Description :
Considered a veritable panacea since the time of the Pharaohs, these are the tiny black seeds of a white-flowered buttercup, Nigella sativa, which grows in the shade of oases. Also known as black cumin, its fragrant seeds are used in particular to flavour bread. The Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) is said to have said that Nigella seed "cures everything except death".
Properties
They contain more than 100 active ingredients, making them a remedy for many ailments. Their virtues are admirably described in Ibn al-Qayyim's famous treatise on Arabic medicine.
