Snake oil, also known as Cobra oil, with its enigmatic name, is a hair oil. Don't look for a snake's tail at the bottom of the bottle, let alone venom - you'll be disappointed!

The ultimate hair oil

Based on the famous story from Greek mythology (Medusa and her snake-like hair that petrified anyone who looked her in the eye), this blend of plant oils is in fact a concentrate for hair growth.

A beneficial blend

Recent years have seen a return to natural products in cosmetics. This is also true for hair, which has been weakened by the chemicals and harmful ingredients in shampoos and other hair care products. A wide variety of oils are now favoured for their benefits in hair care, particularly for hair growth.

While certain oils are known for their hair-growth qualities, here we have a combination of 8 plant oils that are known and recognised for their hair-growth virtues. Andsweet almond oil, which has softening properties and prevents the formation of dandruff.

The virtuous effects of all these oils are combined in subtle doses to encourage hair growth. As part of a treatment against hair loss, or to encourage hair growth, using snake oil will deliver effective results. For all areas of the scalp that are bald or even burnt, or to give a boost to hair that has lost its vitality, snake oil will revive the shine of dull, lifeless hair. The oil can also be used to facilitate detangling.

How do I use it?

Not sure how to get the most out of snake oil? All you need to do is clean your brush thoroughly (on a regular basis), detangle your hair, and proceed with what is commonly known as an 'oil bath'.

How do I do this? Once the hair is detangled, apply the oil all over the hair, strand by strand, and all over the scalp. Gather the hair into a loose bun, cover the head with a charlotte or, better still, a damp, heated towel to open the hair scales and allow it to benefit from all the oil's goodness. Gently massage into the scalp. Leave on for at least half an hour, but if your hair is very dry, you can leave it on overnight. Then shampoo your hair - you can even shampoo twice to remove any remaining oil.

As soon as you start using your snake oil, you'll notice beneficial effects, but it's a long-term process, and you'll need to be patient to see the effects, particularly in terms of hair growth. A one-month course of treatment, after regular use, will produce significant effects.

Our opinion

Although for a long time it suffered from a bad reputation, perhaps because of its name, or because some manufacturers mixed it with the original recipe, it has been making a strong comeback for some time now. 100% vegetable and natural, snake oil lives up to all its promises and is bound to satisfy you.
