Our seed is harvested in Ethiopia, a country known for producing one of the highest quality Nigella Seeds. Known botanically as Nigella Sativa, it is also known by other names such as Black Cumin Seed, or in Arabic as Habbat As-Sawda or Habbat Al-Baraka. Its name"Habachiya" comes from the Arabic translation of the term "Ethiopian".
In order to achieve Grade A status and 99% purity certified by third-party organisations, our freshly harvested Nigella Seed is first cleaned of impurities by two consecutive passes through professional sorting machines, but is then purified and sorted by hand for several weeks to achieve near-perfect results.
This is done in order to obtain a Premium product with 99% Certified Purity, of exceptional quality, which becomes our sole raw material in the creation of our famous Nigella Oil.
It is mentioned in prophetic tradition that black cumin seed is a remedy for all ills, except death. The veracity of these words mentioned in the authentic Al Boukhary can be seen from the impressive number of studies that have been carried out on this miraculous seed.
- type 2 diabetes, with 2 grams a day helping to reduce fast sugars in the blood and insulin resistance.
- epilepsy, with black cumin seeds having anti-seizure properties.
- arterial hypertension, if the latter is mild, with black cumin oil having a hypotensive effect.
- asthma and dust allergies, as one of its most active constituents, thymoquinone, is more effective than current drug prescriptions.
- colon cancer, as black cumin seed eliminates antibiotic-resistant staphylococcus aureus.
- respiratory intoxication, as black cumin oil reduces wheezing and respiratory symptoms.
- opiate addiction.
- analgesic, to combat pain
- anti-bacterial
- anti-inflammatory, to relieve muscular contractures, rheumatism and joint pain
- antioxidant, to help slow down the ageing process
- hepatoprotective, to protect the liver.
Nigella oil also improves concentration and is particularly suitable for dry, sensitive and irritated skin, as it is an excellent remedy for certain skin conditions such as:
- acne
- eczema
- psoriasis
- dermatitis
- chapped skin
- burns
- sunburn and consequent desquamation
- skin fungus
- itching.
Thanks to its soothing and calming properties, black cumin oil can also be used on the scalp. It is also thought to help combat oxidation of cell membranes.
